General McCaffrey visited Colombia on 27-31 March 2011 in support of the National Defense University Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies to obtain an independent assessment for his After Action Report" on the country’s political, economic, drug, human rights, and security situation.

On Tuesday, 29 March 2011, General McCaffrey delivered the keynote speech “Challenges Facing Military Academies in the Formation of Future Officers” at the 3rd International Symposium on the Development of Military Academies (ISODOMA) in Bogota, Colombia.

General McCaffrey presented "Marijuana: Children, The Work Place, and Medicine" to the 2010 National Marijuana Initiative (NMI) and California Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP) Conference on Monday, May 10, 2010. in San Diego, CA.

General McCaffrey detailed the breadth of weapons of mass destruction and offered a strategy to combat what he called “Weapons of Mass Pandemonium” to the Joint Staff Senior Leaders on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
